Job Details

The Events Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of events and banquets. This position coordinates private and semi-private events with guests, clients, managers, and staff members. The Events Manager runs the event process from initial contact through closing of final bill.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drafts contracts for each event in accordance with El Mercado’s standards for contracts.
  • Creates banquet event orders and coordinates their execution with relevant FOH and BOH staff.
  • Creates invoices for clients following event.
  • Performs all duties required to facilitate sales and foster long term guest relationships, and as directed by management.
  • Tracks events and client details in reservation system and Excel spread sheets.
  • Drives sales via networking, community involvement, outside sales, hotel concierge outreach, among other methods.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.
  • Assist in coordinating day of events.
  • Meeting with day of clients and executing the term of event order and contract.
  • Pre shift meetings with staff to review the upcoming night’s events.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • At least three years of previous experience as a senior event coordinator or similar position.
  • Strong sense of guest relations and customer service.
  • Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent knowledge of restaurant business.
  • Possess excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills, and able to multi-task.
  • Able to clearly and accurately communicate with clients, guests, and co-workers in English (including reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs, frequently.
  • Ability to work various shifts if needed for special events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of Tripleseat a plus.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary: $65,000 Base + Commission on all contracted events. $100,000+++ potential.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($80,000.00 - $120,000.00)
