Job Details
We are looking for a partnering chef to join our very small team, on the ground level for a new restaurant / bar to open in a booming, South Philly neighborhood, in the late spring of this year. This person will work with the two female owners in designing a food menu, hiring back and front of house staff, food cost analysis, labor analysis, ordering, prepping, and rotating the food menu seasonally, as well as pairing it with the cocktails and bar program.
We are a brand new, female-run business with a combined 40+ years in the service industry. We have each worked and managed front and back of house in Philadelphia for over 15 years. We are passionate about all things that make the industry in this city unique - great customer service, Philly sports, music, & art - including food and drinks.
We are community-driven and plan to use the second floor of the restaurant as an event space for rentals and live events.
We plan to be hands-on managers, and expect our chef to be as well.
We are putting all of our life savings and funds into this project, so we are looking for the perfect fit.
Ideally in this role our chef would build relationships with suppliers and other industry personnel around the city. Seasonal rotating menus, late night food options, weekly specials, etc are what we are looking for. Creativity is HIGHLY encouraged.
