Job Description: Restaurant Restaurant – Café Sebastian
Position Overview
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house service operations at Café Sebastian, the flagship restaurant within the Transamerica Pyramid. This role ensures a consistently high level of hospitality is delivered during every service, while maintaining team accountability, floor leadership, and guest satisfaction. Though the primary focus is on Café Sebastian, this individual may also support other Kilgore Hospitality Group outlets as needed, including special events, activations, and shared staffing initiatives. The Floor Manager reports to the General Manager and Restaurant manager as well as collaborating closely with the Kitchen team to ensure seamless coordination across outlets.
Core Responsibilities
Service Execution & Guest Relations
- Act as the primary floor lead during meal periods, ensuring a seamless and polished guest experience aligned with Kilgore’s service standards.
- Oversee daily FOH operations, providing real-time guidance and support to the host, bar, and server teams.
- Manage VIP guest recognition, service recovery, pacing, and dining room flow.
- Ensure floor presence at all times to monitor and adjust service dynamics as needed.
Team Supervision & Communication
- Conduct pre-shift meetings with staff to review menu changes, service priorities, and special reservations.
- Support FOH team development through coaching, modeling behavior, and holding the team to appearance and performance standards.
- Facilitate consistent communication between FOH and BOH during service, working directly with the kitchen team to ensure timing and dish quality.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to uphold a strong, organized, and professional culture.
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Assist with shift scheduling, timecard approvals, floor plans, and special seating requests.
- Monitor and uphold opening and closing checklists, side work completion, and shift notes.
- Track and maintain FOH inventory items including menus, POS stations, and small wares.
- Support coordination and setup of private dining or buyout events when Café Sebastian is booked.
- Provide occasional cross-outlet support during large-scale events or operational surges.
Skills & Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of floor management or lead server experience in a full-service, chef-driven restaurant.
- Strong leadership presence with proven guest service and hospitality instincts.
- Proficiency in POS and reservation systems (Toast, OpenTable, etc.).
- Well-organized, proactive, and able to stay calm in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($25.00 - $29.00)
