Sommelier | Wine-Driven Cocktail Bar Concept

A refined cocktail and wine bar is seeking a passionate, guest-forward Sommelier to lead and elevate its wine program.
Designed with cinematic detail and a sense of escape, this concept blends classic elegance with modern hospitality. The wine program features aged vintages, thoughtful pairings, and an American-meets-European point of view. This is a rare opportunity to shape a program that values storytelling, approachability, and excellence in equal measure.
We’re looking for a Sommelier who loves being on the floor, thrives on guest interaction, and is energized by teaching and mentoring others. Someone who sees wine not as a flex, but as a bridge - between cultures, cuisines, and people.

About the Role
The Sommelier is responsible for curating, managing, and executing a dynamic wine program aligned with the restaurant’s vision. This is a hands-on leadership role encompassing wine selection, inventory, staff education, guest engagement, and collaboration with culinary and operations leadership.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: $80,000–$90,000

Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401(k), Dining Discounts

Design and maintain a balanced, compelling, and profitable wine list

Lead daily staff education and ongoing wine training

Manage wine purchasing, vendor relationships, inventory, and cost control

Collaborate with culinary leadership on pairings, seasonal features, and tastings

Oversee cellar organization, storage standards, and inventory reconciliation

Support wine dinners, tastings, and special events

Monitor program performance, reporting on sales, COGS, and profitability

Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws and safety standards

Mentor and develop FOH team members with a hospitality-first mindset

Ideal Candidate

3+ years in a wine-focused role within fine dining or elevated hospitality

Wine certification strongly preferred (CMS, WSET, or equivalent)

Confident communicator who can translate wine knowledge into engaging, guest-friendly language

Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing inventory and costs

Thrives in fast-paced service environments

Passionate about wine, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences
