Food Runner

Job Summary: Chicago Waffles is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Expeditor to join our team. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the efficient flow of food orders from the kitchen to our guests. Your responsibilities include overseeing quality control, coordinating orders, and occasionally running food to tables. Your focus on both in-house and expo orders will be key to providing an outstanding dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Control:
• Inspect each dish to ensure it meets our high standards for accuracy, presentation, and adherence to recipe specifications.
• Act as the final checkpoint to maintain culinary excellence.
• Order Coordination:
• Prioritize and coordinate food orders, working closely with the kitchen team.
• Maintain effective communication for timely and accurate order execution.
• Timing and Efficiency:
• Monitor the timing of food orders to ensure prompt delivery.
• Collaborate with kitchen and serving staff for efficient service flow.
• Food Running:
• Occasionally deliver food directly to tables, ensuring accuracy and promptness.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and precise execution in this role.
• Problem Resolution:
• Address and resolve any issues in the kitchen or with orders efficiently.
• Proactively identify and solve challenges to ensure smooth operation.
• Team Collaboration:
• Effectively communicate with kitchen and waitstaff for smooth coordination.
• Assist in various areas of the restaurant during peak business hours.

Qualifications:

• Essential:
• Experience as a food expeditor, or similar role is preferred.
• Basic oral and written English communication skills. Maybe intermediate-level
• Knowledge of restaurant menus and food preparation processes.
• Ability to manage stressful situations with professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• A friendly and positive demeanor.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Desirable:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Spanish.
• Food Handler Certification.

Essential Physical Abilities:

• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
• Stand and/or walk continuously during the shift.
• Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Complete knowledge of and compliance with all policies and service procedures.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all menus and restaurant details.
• Perform all opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned areas.

Secondary Job Functions:

• Assist other restaurant employees as needed.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, menu tastings.
