Golden Diner is an intimate and welcoming Asian American diner located in Manhattan’s Two Bridges. Contrary to your average diner, our restaurant has achieved national acclaim and recognition from the James Beard Foundation, New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, The New Yorker, Vogue, and Resy, to name a few. We are searching for an Assistant General Manager to join our team. This is a leadership position that will work closely with the General Manager and leadership team.
Do You Have These Skills & Experience?
- At least 2 years of experience managing a concept-driven, high-volume restaurant (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Previous experience in leading a team and implementing FOH and HR systems.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Familiarity with fast-paced restaurant dynamic and knows how to handle stressful situations.
- Working knowledge of standard restaurant management tools (Toast POS/Payroll, Excel, Resy OS, etc.).
What to Expect on the Job
- Manage and oversee day-to-day restaurant operations.
- Assist General Manager in:
- Hiring and onboarding of FOH team members.
- Inventories (beverage, glassware, silverware, etc.).
- Restaurant email communication.
- Team scheduling.
- Payroll and cash reconciliation.
- Exemplify good hospitality; guide and motivate our team in creating an exceptional guest experience.
- Collaborate with leadership team to develop positive culture and effective FOH systems.
- Maintain a safe and healthy facility by following and enforcing Department of Health and other regulations and restaurant standards.
