Barista

The duties of a Cashier/Barista at The Purple Pig include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.

• Provide knowledgeable explanations of gelato flavors, pizza offerings, coffee beverages, daily specials.

• Take accurate food, beverage, and merchandise orders using the POS system, ensuring quick and efficient service in a grab-and-go setting.

• Serve gelato, pizza, coffee, espresso-based beverages, and other hot and cold drinks in accordance with recipe, presentation, and portion standards.

• Anticipate guest needs and respond to questions or feedback in a courteous and professional manner.

• Accurately process all sales transactions, including cash, credit, and digital payments.

• Balance cash drawers and reconcile sales at the end of each shift in accordance with company policies.

• Maintain the integrity of all monetary transactions and immediately report discrepancies to management.

• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee, and specialty drinks following established recipes and quality standards.

• Properly operate, clean, and maintain coffee and espresso equipment.

• Ensure beverage quality, consistency, and speed of service during peak hours.

• Maintain cleanliness of all front-of-house areas, including counters, gelato case, coffee station, pizza service area, and guest-facing spaces.

• Assemble and break down the cashier, barista, and grab-and-go service areas for opening and closing shifts.

• Follow proper food and beverage handling, storage, temperature control, and safety procedures.

• Clean and sanitize all equipment, utensils, and service tools according to health department standards.

• Collect and remove trash and recyclables from customer-facing areas.

• Report maintenance needs or safety hazards to management in a timely manner.
