Host

The Host/Hostess is our first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant. They are responsible for providing a warm and welcoming greeting, managing the flow of guests, and ensuring a positive first impression. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Seating and Management:
  • Greet guests promptly and genuinely upon arrival.
  • Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and answering initial questions.
  • Use OpenTable and Yelp to Handle reservations, confirming details and special requests.
  • Manage the waitlist system effectively, accurately quoting wait times.
  • Monitor dining room activity to ensure even distribution of tables among servers.
  • Control the flow of guests into the dining area to prevent overcrowding.
• Customer Service:
  • Provide friendly and attentive service, anticipating guest needs.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Assist guests with special requests (e.g., high chairs, special seating arrangements).
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times.
• Restaurant Operations Support:
  • Answer phone calls with proper etiquette, taking reservations and providing information.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.
  • Distribute menus, roll silverware, and perform other light duties as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Be knowledgeable about the menu, daily specials, and restaurant promotions.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
• Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
