Trattoria Dell’Arte, a beloved Italian restaurant in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, is hiring a Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. Known for our high-energy dining room, warm hospitality, and timeless Italian cuisine from handmade pastas and seasonal antipasti to expertly executed sauces and proteins this is an opportunity to step into a leadership role at one of NYC’s iconic restaurants.

What You’ll Do
As Sous Chef, you’ll be a key partner to the Executive Chef and instrumental to the kitchen’s daily success:
- Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, service execution, and prep leadership
- Lead the line during busy services, ensuring timing, quality, and standards are met
- Supervise, coach, and motivate BOH staff to maintain an organized, professional kitchen
- Ensure consistency in recipes, portioning, plating, and overall food quality
- Maintain strong food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
- Assist with ordering, inventory, receiving, and cost/waste controls
- Help train and develop junior team members while fostering a positive, collaborative culture
What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in a fine-dining, high-volume environment: 4+ years in a quality-driven kitchen, including 2+ years in a leadership role (Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef)
- Strong leadership, communication, and line execution skills
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and a calm presence under pressure
- A passion for Italian cuisine classic technique, sauces, pasta execution, and consistency
- Culinary training is a plus, but your experience, work ethic, and leadership matter most
