Position Overview:
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a welcoming and positive first impression. This role manages reservations, greets and seats guests, and coordinates the flow of the dining room to ensure smooth operations and excellent guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:

Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival.

Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant’s reservation system.

Escort guests to their tables and present menus.

Communicate wait times accurately and manage guest expectations.

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand, lobby, and entryway.

Assist in coordinating table rotations to balance the dining room.

Answer phones, respond to guest inquiries, and provide information about the menu, hours, or services.

Support servers and managers with guest needs when appropriate.

Handle guest complaints or requests politely, escalating to management as needed.

Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation standards are followed.
Qualifications:

Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred but not required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
