Schneider Deli is opening our second location in Lincoln Park, and we are looking for committed, enthusiastic hospitality professionals to build our opening team around. Our FOH Staff are the face of the deli, responsible for greeting guests, taking orders accurately, processing payments, and ensuring customer satisfaction with dine-in and takeout orders.

At Schneider Deli, we work hard to create a welcoming space where our neighbors can gather and shmooze over Bubbe-approved Jewish deli fare. No reinventing the wheel, no fuss, just the classics: held to the highest standard, with consistency, delivered with a smile.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet all customers as they enter the deli.
- Accurately take and input customer food and beverage orders, utilizing the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments, ensuring accurate till reconciliation at the end of the shift.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu, including daily specials, ingredients, and potential allergens, to answer customer questions and make recommendations.
- Deliver food and beverages to customer tables quickly and efficiently.
- Regularly check in with customers to ensure satisfaction and promptly address any concerns.
- Package takeout and delivery orders according to standard procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including clearing and sanitizing tables, and ensuring condiment stations and retail displays are well-stocked.
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages under the direction of management and barista staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fast-paced food service or customer service environment required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with regards to cleanliness and organization.
- A current food handler's certificate.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
