Job Details
After Little Rascal was born in 2012 in Nolita, New York City,  opened its door in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in June 2022.  Little Rascal is a cutting-edge cocktail bar in Brooklyn. It is located in the heart of the Greenpoint waterfront district and has a partnership with world-renowned mixologist Keith Larry. (formerly Employess Only). 
Little Rascal Greenpoint is seeking a Barback/ Food Runner to join their team


Task and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the bar. This includes stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, and condiments, glassware, ice and produce
  • Prepare the bar by cutting, slicing and peeling perishable garnishes and fruits, mixing and pouring juices and storing back-up supplies in prescribed containers
  • Retrieve orders from stockroom, visually check stock and reconcile to ensure order accuracy and re-check stock upon delivery.
  • Maintain in constant contact with bartenders for any shortage of supplies that might occur during service.
  • Assist with open / close of bar by setting up and breaking down the bar and service stations 
  • Understand the proper steps of service, and consistently execute them with efficiency and grace in the high-volume setting
  • Report the breakage, loss or theft of any restaurant property
  • Maintain positive rapport by communicating consistently with all levels of staff, guests, and external clients
  • Adhere to all company procedures as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance and conduct
  • Ensure DOL/Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation
  • Helping floor, bussing tables, running food
  • Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  •      Energetic, enthusiastic, highly motivated and passionate about hospitality, food and beverage.              
  •      Ability to work well on a team. 
  •      Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse challenging situations and resolve conflicts.
  •     Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock

  • Physical Demands

    Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, using fingers and hands, kneeling, or crouching. 


    Position Requirements 

    • 3 years previous experience at a restaurant with similar service, guest relations and operational standards. 
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively 
    • Knowledgeable on spirits/cocktails /wine, all aspects of dining room service. 
    • General knowledge of food preparation methods and culinary terminology.
    • Ability to work a variable schedule, including weekends, and shifts from morning through late night
    • Proficient computer skills

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($12.00 - $15.00) plus tips
