Confidant aims to modernise Brooklyn Height’s historic neighborhood through high-level execution and an intentional, evolving menu. In a refined and relaxed dining room, seasonal a la carte dishes showcase the dynamic creativity of Chefs Brendan Kelly, Dan Grossman, and Pastry Chef Mariah Neston. With a robust natural wine selection, as well as a cocktail list highlighting global indigenous expressions of spirits, the beverage program rises to the occasion of ingenuity. The Backserver is the great connector between the kitchen and the floor. They serve in a foundational role, as their understanding of the menu, pacing of courses, and availability of supplies is key to sustaining an efficient flow. The Backsever will have an insightful ability to predict upcoming steps of service and be a prompt communicator as changes occur. Flexibility and coordination is key. For the ambitious, this is a crucial step in mastering the practice of floor service.
The Backserver reports to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Compensation begins at $11.35 per hour plus tips.
Position Requirements
- Joie de vivre.
- A minimum 1 year of experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant is preferred, but we are willing to train a candidate with promise.
- We will be open for dinner service Wednesday to Sunday: full time availability is a must.
- Familiarity with Toast.
- The ability to multitask and coordinate effectively with floor and kitchen management.
- Apt attention to details in service of refining every dining experience.
- Maintaining a clean, organized space on and off the floor.
- The ability to lift 10 to 25lbs where necessary.
- The ability to deliver dishes with a clear and professional verbal description.
- Multi-tasking a variety of floor responsibilities, including silverware marking, glass placement, and general table maintenance.
- A willingness to polish silverware, glassware, and restock as necessary.
