ilili DC, located at The Wharf, is seeking an experienced Sommelier to join the team!

As a Sommelier at ilili, you are an ambassador of Lebanese hospitality who provides timely, friendly service of the highest quality to our guests. Must be a dedicated professional with a passion for delivering hospitality excellence with a focus on wine and beverage knowledge!

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve wine and other beverages according to company specifications and adherence to local, state, and federal guidelines
• Maintain bottles, glasses, tools, and garnishes in a clean, attractive, and functional manner to support efficient wine service and promotion of wine sales
• Assisting guests by making recommendations and answering questions regarding food, beverage, and ilili in general
• Stage private events in advance of parties to ensure proper stock, appropriate temperature, and/or decanting as needed
• Consult on regular educational programming with the Beverage Director and/or General Manager
• Conduct monthly inventory audits of spirits, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and ingredients
• Maintain pars of all beverages and supplies—alert Management when stocks are low or 86’d

Ideal Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years sommelier experience in a high-volume, fine-dining restaurant
• Strong communication (verbal and written) in English required
• An ongoing passion for self-study of beverage and hospitality
• Understanding of DC health department codes and conduct as well as responsible alcohol service guidelines
• Weekends, nights, and holiday availability is a must!
• Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, reach, bend, climb up and down stairs, and carry multiple objects up to 50 lbs
