Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site)
Pay Range: $17.81 – $20 per hour (plus tips, commensurate with experience)
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time (Non-exempt, hourly; tipped position under CA Wage Order 5)

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Sommelier who combines deep product knowledge with an intuitive sense of hospitality. The Sommelier is responsible for guiding guests through our curated beverage program, showcasing exceptional wines, sakes, and pairings that enhance the Sushi Nakazawa experience.

You will:

  • Lead the beverage experience with expertise and enthusiasm, assisting guests in selecting wines, sakes, and pairings
  • Maintain full knowledge of the restaurant’s beverage list, menu progression, and pairing philosophy
  • Manage inventory and restock beverage selections to ensure seamless service
  • Collaborate with the Beverage Director and service team to maintain consistency and excellence
  • Uphold Department of Health and workplace safety standards, maintaining clean and organized service areas
  • Support a culture of respect, teamwork, and continuous learning
What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Sommelier or advanced-level wine professional in fine dining
  • Strong wine, sake, and beverage knowledge, including certifications (CMS, WSET, or equivalent) preferred
  • Professional communication and ability to connect with guests across diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Team-oriented approach and passion for refined, guest-centered hospitality
