We are looking for a passionate pastry professional to join our team of artisan bakers. As an Assistant Baker at Somedays Bakery, you will support both sweet and savory production while contributing to a hardworking, collaborative team. The ideal candidate is excited to grow their skills across a wide range of pastry techniques, including producing high-quality creams, doughs, cookies, and savory items. You should be dedicated to consistency, craftsmanship, and maintaining Somedays’ commitment to exceptional quality. RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist with daily sweet and savory production across the bakery
● Prepare and refine pastry creams, fillings, cookies, doughs, and savory menu items
● Support general production tasks, including scaling ingredients, mixing, and prep work
● Maintain high product quality by observing consistency, texture, and flavor, and adjusting methods as needed
● Check the quality of raw materials to ensure standards and specifications are met
● Follow portioning guidelines and production standards
● Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs
● Properly label, organize, and store ingredients
● Maintain a clean and orderly workstation and adhere to all health and safety standards
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
● 1–2 years of professional pastry or bakery experience preferred
● Experience with basic pastry techniques such as pastry creams, fillings, curds, and dough production
● Ability to lift 50+ lbs without restriction
● Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
● Strong time management skills and a sense of urgency
● Solid basic math and recipe scaling skills
● Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and some holidays
● Must follow all food safety regulations and company procedures
