Position Summary
The Polisher plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in maintaining the elevated dining experience Golden Steer NYC is known for. This position is responsible for ensuring all glassware, silverware, and service pieces are spotless, polished, and service-ready at all times. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and takes pride in contributing to a flawless guest experience through precision, cleanliness, and consistency.
This is a non-tipped support position essential to the success of the front-of-house team.
Key Responsibilities

Glassware & Silverware Polishing: Polish all glassware, flatware, and service items to Golden Steer standards—spotless, streak-free, and perfectly presented.

Quality Control: Inspect items carefully for chips, cracks, water spots, or imperfections and remove damaged items from service.

Service Readiness: Ensure adequate par levels of polished items are always available for service periods.

Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized polishing station and storage areas at all times.

DOH Compliance: Uphold NYC DOH sanitation and handling standards for all service ware.

Team Support: Work closely with bussers, servers, and management to support smooth service flow.

Efficiency & Accuracy: Work quickly and methodically while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Communication: Alert management of shortages, breakage, or equipment issues promptly.

Experience & Qualifications (Must-Haves)

Prior restaurant, stewarding, or service support experience preferred (not required).

Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic.

English required; Spanish a plus.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements

Stand for extended periods (8–10 hours).

Repetitive hand and arm movements while polishing.

Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

Nights, weekends, and holidays required.
