Nancy Silverton & Joe Bastianich’s Osteria Mozza is seeking a Sommelier to join our flagship restaurant on Melrose and Highland Avenue in Los Angeles. Osteria Mozza is a one Michelin-starred Italian restaurant. Fine dining experience is required.
Service is fast-paced and requires a great deal of organization and attention to detail. Our wine list is exclusively Italian and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated a high level of Italian wine proficiency. Sommeliers are responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience as representatives of the Silverton & Bastianich brand and as ambassadors for Italian wine, food, and culture.
Responsibilities include:
Nightly dinner service. This includes all bottled-wine service in addition to all aspects of restaurant service. To this end comprehensive training is provided.
Stocking all beverage deliveries upon arrival. We receive the bulk of our wine deliveries on Tuesday and Friday and schedule the opening sommelier (at both Osteria Mozza and Chi Spacca) for an early arrival. However deliveries, including soda and beer, do arrive throughout the week.
Setting up the dining room for dinner service and completing all relevant sidework.
Replenishing by the glass and by the quartino wine inventories.
Breaking down all wine and wine related paraphernalia after dinner service
We count wine inventory on the first of the month and the sommeliers must be available for their scheduled inventory shifts. We schedule two sommeliers per month for wine inventory.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($17.28) plus tips
Estimated Weekly Tips: $600
