RÊVE, in downtown Lafayette is a neighborhood French bistro & the only Michelin restaurant east of the Caldicott tunnel. We are looking for a full time bartender. Your schedule will be Tuesday - Saturday 4:00 pm - 10 or 11 pm.
No Sundays & Mondays. Ideal start date mid to end of January.
We are a small, dedicated team of professionals who have a very strong teamwork focus. RÊVE is family owned and operated and has been in business for 10 years. The bartender is part of the server tip pool.
You are the only bartender for our restaurant & a small countertop bar that seats 4 guests serving full meals, but it is BUSY. You must be someone who is well organized and
works quick, clean and efficiently. Part of the interview will be a short beverage exam including French wine and spirits knowledge. You must be able to provide 2 professional references from recent employment.
-Duties include preparing and serving beverages (cocktails, all coffee drinks, beer, wine and N/A drinks,) overseeing bar maintenance, making menu suggestions, delivering food and drinks, describing the dishes to guests, recommending wine selections, monitoring guest satisfaction, managing inventory, and providing an order list each week for all bar products.
-Must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with an extensive knowledge of crafting seasonal cocktails, product and alcoholic beverage selections. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, ensure smooth service operations and quality service.
Requirements:
-Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, French and California wines, and high end spirits.
- 2 years in an upscale, full service environment.
- Cleanliness, organization and the ability to work well in a team situation are crucial to this position.
- Applicants must possess a strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress in a fine dining environment.
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. No facial or hand tattoos or facial piercings (ears is ok)
Must possess a valid food handlers' card and safeserv alcohol card.
Physical requirements:

- lift 4and carry 40 lbs (a case of wine) repetitively
- twist / turn / reach / bend
- read / write / speak English fluently
- communicate well with guests both in person and on the phone in loud areas
- work in small spaces
- see small printing clearly (tickets / wine bottles)
