Job Summary:
Chicago Waffles is seeking an experienced and highly organized Floor Manager to oversee daily front-of-house operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences. The Floor Manager plays a key leadership role on the floor by supervising staff, maintaining service standards, resolving guest concerns, and ensuring smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and committed to operational excellence and team accountability.
Key Responsibilities: Floor & Guest Management:

Oversee day-to-day front-of-house operations during assigned shifts.

Ensure guests are greeted promptly and receive excellent service throughout their visit.

Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently.

Monitor service flow to maintain speed, quality, and consistency.
Staff Supervision:

Supervise servers, food runners, hosts, and support staff during service.

Assign sections, manage breaks, and adjust staffing based on business volume.
-
Ensure staff adherence to Chicago Waffles service standards and policies.
-
Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance as needed.
Service Standards & Quality Control:
-
Ensure proper food presentation, accuracy, and timely delivery.
-
Monitor table maintenance, cleanliness, and overall dining room appearance.
-
Enforce uniform, hygiene, and professional conduct standards.
POS & Cash Handling:
-
Assist with POS issues, voids, comps, and discounts in accordance with company policy.
-
Oversee accurate order entry and payment processing.
-
Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
Communication & Coordination:

Act as a liaison between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
-
Communicate effectively with expeditors and cooks to manage pacing and priorities.

Relay operational updates and shift expectations clearly to staff.
Opening & Closing Duties:

Perform or oversee all opening and closing procedures.
-
Ensure checklists are completed accurately and thoroughly.

Secure the restaurant, verify cleanliness, and confirm readiness for the next shift.
Problem Resolution:

Handle staffing issues, service delays, and unexpected challenges calmly.

Make quick, informed decisions to maintain smooth operations.
-
Escalate issues to upper management when necessary.
Qualifications: Essential:
-
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a breakfast, brunch, or high-volume daytime restaurant.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
-
Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced environment.

Punctual, dependable, and professional.

Knowledge of POS systems and front-of-house operations.
-
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Desirable:

High School diploma or equivalent.
-
Basset Certification.
-
Food Handler Certification.
-
Hands-on experience in a breakfast or brunch-focused restaurant.

Bilingual (Spanish preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements:

Capable of enduring various physical movements throughout the work areas.

Stand and/or walk continuously during the shift.

Lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.
