Job Details

The Maître d’ is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience. This position oversees reservations, guest flow, and front-of-house hospitality while supporting management with guest services and private event coordination. Strong communication skills and experience with OpenTable are essential.

Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality
  • Welcome and seat guests warmly and professionally

  • Manage guest flow to ensure smooth service and optimal table utilization

  • Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and courteously

  • Support managers in resolving guest service issues and enhancing overall guest satisfaction

Reservations Management
  • Oversee and manage the restaurant’s reservation email inbox

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date reservations using OpenTable

  • Monitor reservation pacing, table assignments, and special guest notes

  • Ensure seamless integration of reservations with private events and special bookings

  • Coordinate closely with management and service staff regarding reservation changes and VIP guests

Private Events Support
  • Assist with managing reservations related to private events and buyouts

  • Ensure clear communication between events, reservations, and floor operations

  • Help maintain accurate guest counts and seating plans for events

Online Presence & Feedback
  • Regularly review online guest feedback and reviews

  • Flag trends, concerns, and notable guest comments for management

  • Support management in maintaining a positive online reputation through awareness and follow-up

Team & Operational Support
  • Communicate effectively with hosts, servers, managers, and kitchen staff

  • Support managers with daily guest service operations

  • Uphold restaurant standards for professionalism, appearance, and hospitality

Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience as a Maître d’, Host Manager, or similar front-of-house role

  • Required: Experience using OpenTable for reservations and guest management

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail and commitment to high service standards

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with private events or large-scale reservations

  • Familiarity with reviewing and interpreting online guest feedback

  • Leadership experience in a front-of-house setting


Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($25.00 - $30.00)

Benefits & Perks: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Potential Bonuses, Health and Dental are Paid out at 80% of Kaiser and VSP
