Ideal Executive Chef candidates have a solid culinary foundation with strong seafood experience, an established track record of succesful kitchen leadership and team building, proven financial results, and a genuine passion and commitment to guest experience and satisfaction. The position will be expected to understand and maintain the signature brand components of The Salt Line concept while also bringing their own perspective and creative element to the menu in order to make it their own and continue to establish the restaurant in a dynamic and attractive way within the competitive Bethesda dining scene.
Long Shot Hospitality Chefs work in close partnership with restaurant General Managers to be the co-leaders and role models for the restaurant in understanding and achieving operational goals, building culture and establishing a positive workplace, setting and maintaining professional standards and expectations, and an overall sense of ownership and pursuit of excellence.
Little bit about us: The Salt Line concept combines the spirit of a New England Style Raw Bar and Seafood House with the bounty of the Chesapeake and the energy of the Nation’s Capital Region. The original The Salt Line, located across the street from Nats park in the Navy Yard neighborhood, has firmly established itself as one of the best, busiest and most beloved restaurants in Washington DC. Both neighborhood go-to spot and acclaimed dining destination, TSL has received numerous accolades since opening in fall of 2017, including a coveted three stars from the Washington Post's Tom Sietsema. the 2019 Rammy for Chef of the Year to Kyle Bailey, and the 2020 Rammy for Favorite Gathering Place. The menu draws inspiration from New England Classics and the treasures of the Mid-Atlantic and showcases these highly executed classics along side other creative offerings such as seafood charcuterie, crudos, signature raw bar items, and chef driven seafood entrees. The beverage program complements the menu with an extensive signature cocktail, a dynamic craft beer list drawing heavily from NE & local breweries, and a carefully curated international wine list.
The second The Salt Line opened to immediate accolades and success in the Ballston neighborhood of Northern Va. The 3rd Bethesda location opened in July 2023 and has established itself as a cornerstone of the Bethesda dining community. The Executive Chef position will work closely with Long Shot Chef/Partner Kyle Bailey and Long Shot Culinary Director Omar Rodriguez.The Salt Line is brought to you by Longshot Hospitality, winners of the 2024 Rammy for Restaurateurs of the Year.
