Sqirl is a legacy restaurant in Los Angeles that is continuing to evolve into dinner service. We are looking for Servers & Lead Servers who are enthusiastic and passionate about hospitality, to join our team for the upcoming Dinner Service. You must have empathy, a good sense of humor and deep care for the work. Experience is preferred, however, we are happy to teach anyone who is open to it and has a great attitude. Please specify if you are applying for the lead server position. Only apply for the Lead Server position if you have a strong foundation of wine knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive to work in uniform, on-time, with all the tools needed for a successful shift.
- Provide warm, thoughtful and hospitable service to all guests.
- Navigate guests through the food and beverage menu using your knowledge and offer any insight and/or recommendations.
- Answer any questions about the menu including but not limited to, modifications, allergies, ingredients and sourcing.
- Enter any food or beverage items accurately into POS and ensure items are delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensure the dining room is always clean, detailed & ready to welcome guests in!
- Perform any necessary side work and related tasks to ensure a prepared and efficient service.
- Maintain clean and organized work stations/guest facing areas.
- Assist with any guest issues and communicate with management to find a prompt solution.
- Work well in a team setting to ensure a seamless service!
- Uphold and execute Sqirl service and hospitality standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a fast paced restaurant.
- Positive attitude with a desire to develop new skills.
- Open availability and flexibility to work weekends, holidays if necessary.
- MUST have good punctuality and time management skills.
- Strong knowledge of wine preferred but not required.
- California Food Handler & RBS Certifications
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest conflicts.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift or carry items weighing up to 25lbs.
Lead Server Applicants:
This role will require extensive wine experience and will be very hands on during service.
- Navigate guests through the food and beverage menu using your knowledge and offer any insight and/or recommendations.
- Have a strong foundation of wine knowledge with a deep understanding of our wine program
- Provide personalized wine service and recommendations to any guests to enhance their dining experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a fast paced restaurant
- WSET certifications preferred but not required.
