Job Details

We are seeking a strong, service-driven Sous Chef to join a Michelin-caliber culinary team in New York City. This is a leadership role for a cook who thrives in precision, pace, and accountability while maintaining a supportive, mentorship-focused kitchen culture.

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of three years of New York City experience in reputable, high-volume restaurants and is confident running the pass, guiding a brigade, and protecting standards during demanding services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite service with composure, clarity, and urgency

  • Lead and mentor line cooks; support hiring, training, and development

  • Maintain excellence in food quality, consistency, and presentation

  • Ensure readiness and execution across all stations

  • Partner with Chef leadership on ordering, inventory, prep systems, and sanitation

  • Contribute to administrative organization and cost awareness, including food cost and P&L literacy

Qualifications

  • 3+ years NYC kitchen experience in a fine-dining or Michelin-level environment

  • Proven leadership presence and ability to direct service

  • Strong technical foundation across hot line, garde manger, and production

  • Deep respect for systems, discipline, and cleanliness

  • Ability to balance refinement with volume

  • Professional communication and calm under pressure
