Lead Line Cook

The original Cafe Lift opened 20 years ago. It was husband and wife, Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello’s vision to create a restaurant that would not only be progressive in its location, but in the food that they would be serving. As a cafe they strived to push the boundaries of what a bruncherie could be, and placed a strong emphasis on supporting the region's farmers and purveyors. After serving tens of thousands of brunches at our Philadelphia location, Cafe Lift opened its second location on Kings Highway in Downtown Haddonfield.  Open 8am-3pm daily, Cafe Lift offers an amazing elevated brunch menu, and a long-standing army of regular guests. This is an excellent position for a Sous Chef, and a rare opportunity for a Chef to maintain day-time hours. 

We are looking to expand our culinary team and are looking for a Lead Line Cook that has the same desire. We are searching for individuals who are passionate about cooking, pushing the boundaries, and most importantly, wanting to grow within our company and become a member of our community. Candidates must have two years experience within high volume restaurants with equally high standards, and exemplary ordering and inventory skills. Although there will be light administrative tasks involved with this position, leading by example on the line is the best way to thrive in this role. 

Desired Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of progressive culinary experience in well-rated restaurants.
• The ability and desire to work with locally-sourced, seasonal foods, and to help design menus based on them.
• Prior experience and success in running expo in a busy kitchen.
• Experience with training and mentoring hourly BOH staff.
• Ability to drive performance and results of a diverse culinary workforce.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally push and/or pull up to 50 pounds. The employee will spend over 4 hours daily standing or walking.
