The Good Fork Pub is seeking an experienced head chef eager to have some fun within the confines of our casual neighborhood setting. Our ideal menu includes elevated pub house classics as well as simple yet inventive dishes to keep our crowd of local regulars excited with consistent special offerings that cater to the changing seasons. Similarly, we aim to serve a well-rounded menu that accommodates a wide range of allergy and dietary restrictions, such as offering dishes that are vegan or gluten-free without the need for modifications.
Located in the unique destination neighborhood of Red Hook, the restaurant sees dramatic swings in business as nice weather attracts many day-trippers to the area. Summer months are significantly busier and our large outdoor dining areas allow us to serve twice the number of customers as we can in the winter months when restricted to our indoor seating capacity. The stark seasonal shift in business is worth noting because the ability to keep up with our high-volume demand during the busiest of times is just as important as the capacity to adjust and adapt to best satisfy our community with seasonal specials when it gets cold and business slows down.

It's crucial that the chef in this role understands the importance of building and maintaining a well-trained team. We ask that you bring experience in hiring, training and scheduling line/prep cooks and dishwashers. Keeping the various prep areas, the walk-in and the kitchen itself exceptionally clean and adhering to DOH standards is required at all times. Operating a clean and tidy kitchen throughout service should come naturally to you and training your team to do the same should be just as important.

Compensation: Salary ($80,000.00)
