JOB OVERVIEW
The Server provides table service for Bar Heretic’s wine bar guests. Reports to the Bar/Café Operations manager.
- Takes customer orders and provides excellent customer service in all guest interactions
- Follows opening and closing procedures. Ensures counter is setup and maintained according to standards.
- Ensures storage areas are stocked with all necessary paper good and food/beverage items, including wines. Communicates with manager for all inventory issues
- Serves wine/beer to guests according to set standards
- Uses POS system and handles money/credit card transactions
- Busses dishes and washes glassware as needed
- Maintains a clean and sanitary environment according to Department of Health standards
- Operates all equipment according to set standards, follows all equipment cleaning protocols, and promptly elevates any equipment issues to manager for service/resolution
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience working in a café or restaurant environment
- Strong understanding of steps of service
- Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Food Handler’s License preferred
