JOB OVERVIEW
At Bar Heretic, a Line Cook is responsible for producing menu items for our café, bakery and wine bar in accordance with our recipes. Reports to the Kitchen Operations Manager.
- Prepares sandwiches, salads, bar snacks and other foods according to our recipes
- Follows opening and closing checklists and prep lists, prepares and organizes the station before service to ensure a smooth and successful service
- Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards
- Works towards mastering all shifts and production processes
- Assists FOH café team if needed and engages with guests interested in learning about our products
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in a food preparation position
- Basic math and measuring skills
- Strong work ethic, communication and time management skills
- Post-secondary culinary program highly preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Availability to work onsite with an open, flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Ability to work with an electric convection oven, tabletop fryers and gas range
- Food Handler’s License required
