FRONT OF HOUSE SUPERVISOR

The Butcher’s Daughter is a busy, fast paced and vibrant vegetarian restaurant located in the heart of vibrant Williamsburg. We are looking for a part time supervisor to join our team, who is enthusiastic about the restaurant industry and is looking to grow and become an integral part of our culinary and service team.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Supervisor plays a key leadership role on the floor and is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience throughout every shift. This role involves a hands-on approach to service, supporting the FOH team, and making sure the space is guest-ready each day. Candidates should be comfortable setting up for service, which may include long hours on your feet, lifting and moving heavy items, and working closely with the culinary team. You’ll set the tone for hospitality, pace, and flow—and help bring our sunny, stylish energy to life.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead daily pre-shift meetings and set the tone for excellent service

Oversee floor operations during service with warmth, poise, and clear communication

Ensure the dining room and service areas are properly set and ready each day (includes physical setup and breakdown)

Step in to support where needed—greeting guests, running food, seating, bussing, or resolving issues with care

Help support & inspire hosts, servers, runners, and baristas and be liaison from FOH to BOH staff.

Monitor and respond to guest feedback in real time

Communicate effectively between front and back of house to maintain seamless service

Uphold cleanliness, organization, and brand standards across the space

Assist with admin responsibilities as needed (scheduling, ordering, inventory, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS:
-
2+ years of front-of-house restaurant experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
- Must be available to work weekends & some holidays

Comfortable with hands-on setup, including lifting/moving objects up to 50 lbs

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills

Passionate about plant-based cuisine, thoughtful hospitality, and team culture

Able to work flexible hours including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Familiar with POS systems and reservation platforms like Toast, Resy, or OpenTable
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience on management team in a fast paced and high-volume restaurant
- Has a natural ability to maintain a calm, collected demeanor, and works well under pressure for long days and fast paced environment
- Strong knowledge of operations including food, beverage, staff supervision, safety, and guest experience.
- Is a quick learner, critical thinker and natural problem solver
- Has strong communication skills, and feels confident in leading a team of over 100 people
- Is passionate about food, beverage and people! And is invested in growing the restaurant as if it’s your own.
- Is able to receive and complete tasks efficiently and timely
- Is hands on and creative
- Is available full time and willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends, late nights, and holidays (our busiest time)
- Is a self-motivator and a cheerleader for others! You have the ability to work long hours under pressure and still inspire others with a smile
- Toast (or other POS), excel, and other restaurant hardware systems experience a plus
Compensation:
- Hourly range $24 - $26
- Medical, dental and vision if moved to full time with performance plan & goals if available
