Job Details
Oriana is the latest venture from Chef Andy Quinn and Sommelier Cedric Nicaise, an evolution of The Noortwyck and a new expression of their shared vision. The restaurant is slated to open in late January or early February.

Oriana is where fire meets flavour in the heart of Nolita. We deliver technique without the formality and are focused on reclaiming what a wood-fired restaurant is. Oriana honours the legacy of great New York restaurants while creating something new: a downtown restaurant where food, wine and culture come together. Our goal is to create world-class food, deliver thoughtful hospitality and contribute something lasting to New York City’s culinary landscape.

The Maître d’ serves as the first point of contact for our guests and works closely with the Oriana management team to ensure each guest enjoys a seamless and pleasurable dining experience. We’re looking for someone whose grace and accommodating nature come instinctively.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee dining room flow and maintain thoughtful pacing of seating throughout the restaurant.
• Build and manage the waitlist for walk-in guests.
• Answer all incoming calls with clarity and professionalism.
• Monitor and respond to emails sent to the general information inbox.
• Cultivate guest relationships and contribute to developing a loyal regular clientele.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under pressure.

What we look for:
• Available to work weekends
• 2+ years experience in a guest-facing restaurant role preferred
• English fluency
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses, and lift objects up to 30 lbs
• Positive team-first attitude
• Commitment to education and learning
• Experience using Resy or a similar platform

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($28.00 - $32.00)
