About Bramble & Hare:

Founded by Jill and Chef Eric Skokan, Bramble & Hare is the original Farmhouse Kitchen and Pub and the spirited sister restaurant to the acclaimed Black Cat. We are the downtown Boulder outpost for the daily harvest of our own Black Cat Organic Farm. In a cozy, vintage atmosphere, we welcome guests to enjoy a convivial dining experience centered around a 3-course prix fixe menu, inventive craft cocktails, our farm-raised heritage Mulefoot pork, and pristine organic produce. We are a tight-knit team dedicated to providing genuine hospitality and telling the story of our farm.

Position Overview:

Bramble & Hare is seeking an experienced, passionate, and nimble backwait to join our front-of-house team. The ideal candidate is a hospitality professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and excels at creating a warm and memorable guest experience. This role requires a team player who is comfortable in a fast pased environment. You are not just a backwait; you are a key part of what makes the Bramble & Hare experience so special.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service to every guest.

  • Develop a deep understanding of our food and beverage program, including the ingredients harvested from Black Cat Farm, preparation methods, and the stories behind them.

  • Work collaboratively and proactively with all members of the team—kitchen, bar, and front of house—to ensure a smooth and seamless service.
  • Assist with all aspects of service as needed, embodying our "all hands on deck" philosophy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 6 months of serving experience in a full-service, upscale-casual or fine dining environment.

  • A genuine passion for food, hospitality, and the farm-to-table ethos.

  • Knowledge of or a strong interest in organic farming, foraging, and seasonality is a significant plus.

  • A team-first mentality and a willingness to step in and help wherever needed.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in a lively setting.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with guests authentically.

  • Must have availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Why Join Bramble & Hare?

  • Be part of a celebrated, farm-driven restaurant group with a passion for true hospitality.

  • Work in a fun, collaborative, and fast-paced team environment.

  • Competitive compensation and excellent gratuities.

  • Opportunities to deepen your knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and sustainable agriculture.

  • Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Farm To Table

Fine Dining

Part of Bramble and Hare/Black Cat Farm Table Bistro

Black Cat Farm~Table~Bistro opened its doors in 2006. Founded by Chef Eric Skokan and his wife, Jill, it is named after its “lucky” location on 13th street in Downtown Boulder. A small neighborhood bistro, the Black Cat serves as Chef Eric’s incubator for the developing Front Range Cuisine, an expression of the forests, fields and mountains unique to Colorado.

To that end, Eric and Jill created the 425-acre, Certified Organic, Black Cat Farm that now supplies the bounty of the restaurants, a booth at the Boulder Farmers’ market, and CSA’s. They raise vegetables, Tunis & Karakul sheep, Mulefoot pigs, heritage chickens and turkeys, and Toulouse geese.

The Black Cat team also forages wild fruit and produce (like mushrooms, junipier and wild plums) that root the restaurant’s cuisine in the flavors unique to the Front range.

The restaurant’s cuisine is simply an expression of the land and the season. As such, Black Cat’s menu changes every day.

In 2012, Jill and Eric opened Bramble & Hare ~ farmhouse kitchen and pub next door to Black Cat as a way to expand their Farm to Table, Colorado Front Range cuisine in a more casual setting.
