In a collaborative environment with multiple stations, the counter staff role is for a person who is great with people, good at multitasking, is clean, organized, and efficient under pressure. The counter staff is responsible for serving coffee, pastries, bread, and sandwiches to customers, keeping the cafe area clean and well-maintained, and handling cash and our POS system. Performance reviews happen after 90 days; 6-month check-ins for potential promotions. We don't have an espresso machine so less specific barista experience is necessary; we're looking for someone who likes talking to customers and is friendly and nice to work with.
Responsibilities Include:
- Greeting customers
- Taking and preparing orders
- Handling cash and credit card transactions
- Coffee and tea sales and orders
- Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining cafe area by clearing bus tubs, cleaning counters, sweeping and mopping the cafe space
- Helping back of house staff with accepting deliveries and inventory when needed; helping back of house staff with prep when needed
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be comfortable working on your feet for 7-hour days in a high-energy environment
- Ability to ask for help when needed; ability to provide help to others when needed
- Collaborative, communicative, and interested in learning and growing
- Be able to work Thursday through Sunday, 8 to 4pm
