Job Details
Brass & The Tusk Bar are two of Manhattan’s most thoughtfully designed dining rooms—precision-driven, high-touch, and rooted in the art of genuine hospitality. We are seeking an exceptional Maître d’ who understands that the guest experience begins long before the first greeting at the door. This role is the heartbeat of our service operation: a strategic floor planner, a calm and confident presence, and the ultimate ambassador of our two-room dining experience.
About the RoleThe Maître d’ is responsible for orchestrating the flow of the dining rooms with accuracy, grace, and intention. You understand how to plot a room, maximize seating in real time, and maintain pacing and spacing across two busy venues. You are the first and last interaction for every guest—overseeing reservations, managing pre-arrival communication, and delivering warm, intuitive welcomes that set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
You are a connector, a communicator, and a conductor of hospitality.
What You’ll Do-
Own the reservations book: Manage seating platforms with precision, ensuring thoughtful allocation of tables, pacing, and turn times
-
Plot and maximize the floor: Create and execute seating strategies that maximize revenue without compromising guest experience
-
Lead the arrival experience: Greet guests with warmth, learn their preferences, and ensure seamless transitions from the door to the table
-
Act as guest liaison: Respond to pre-arrival notes, VIP flags, and day-of communications
-
Support service flow: Collaborate with Captains, Sommeliers, Hosts, and Managers to maintain timing, energy, and room awareness
-
Manage walk-ins and on-the-fly adjustments
-
Uphold the ethos of Brass & The Tusk Bar: confident, elegant, and guest-forward at all times
-
1 Michelin star or equivalent fine dining experience required
-
Proven ability to strategize and maximize seating during service
-
Deep understanding of pacing, flow, and multi-room coordination
-
Warm, polished presence with exceptional communication skills
-
Ability to remain composed and solutions-oriented under pressure
-
Passion for hospitality—not order-taking, but true guest care and stewardship
-
Technical proficiency in:
-
SevenRooms
-
Resy
-
OpenTable
-
Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar)
-
- Polish, poise and calm at all times
Brass & The Tusk Bar are built by people who care deeply about craft—service, ambiance, storytelling, and the details that elevate a night out into a memory. As our Maître d’, you will shape that experience from the very first touchpoint.
If you are a strategic floor leader with Michelin-level awareness and a love for delivering hospitality that feels personal, effortless, and unforgettable, we’d love to meet you.
