Position Summary:
Lasita is seeking a reliable Prep / Line Cook to support daily prep and nightly service. This hands-on role helps keep the kitchen running smoothly by preparing ingredients, working hot and cold stations, and maintaining food quality. You will work closely with a great team, to ensure prep tasks are completed, stations are ready for service, and dishes meet our high standards.
Responsibilities:
Cooking Skills and Kitchen Proficiency
- Execute menu items from prep to plating with accuracy,
- Complete daily prep, including vegetables, sauces, marinades, proteins, and mise en place.
- Maintain knife skills and foundational cooking techniques.
- Follow recipes, portion standards, and station guides consistently.
- Work with seasonal ingredients and maintain plating standards during service.
- Work smoothly with BOH and communicate with FOH for seamless service.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked.
- Support kitchen-wide prep and production tasks.
- Participate in pre-service tastings, briefings, and notes.
Food Quality & Operations
- Maintain high standards for taste, texture, and temperature.
- Follow sanitation and cleanliness procedures; care for equipment.
- Receive, rotate, and properly store ingredients.
- Participate in scheduled deep cleaning of BOH areas.
- Adhere to Health Department standards for safety, labeling, and storage.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of kitchen experience.
- High-volume kitchen experience preferred.
- Knowledge of knife handling, food safety, and sanitation.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and passion for food.
- Able to take feedback and learn quickly.
- Interest in Filipino / Southeast Asian cuisine is a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Include seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds, standing for 8+ hours, bending, and moving intermittently throughout the shift. Requirements may be met with or without reasonable accommodations.
