The Black Cat Tavern in Silver Lake holds significant historical importance as one of the first LGBTQ+ bars in Los Angeles. It became a focal point for the LGBTQ+ community in the 1960s, a time when such spaces were rare and often subject to police raids. The Black Cat gained further prominence after a police raid in 1967 sparked protests and legal battles against discrimination. These events contributed to the early LGBTQ+ rights movement in the United States. The Black Cat remains a symbol of resilience and a reminder of the ongoing struggle for LGBTQ+ rights.
We are seeking a dynamic front of house manager to join our team. We are looking for someone who leads by example, and who has a genuine passion for hospitality. Duties are wide and varied. We are considering qualified candidates to step in to a full-time management role.
