Job Details
As a Porter at Hani's Bakery + Cafe, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of all business areas by washing pots and pans, keeping the kitchen and retail areas clean, and ensuring adherence to proper sanitation standards. Porters must handle multiple daily responsibilities, display an ability and willingness to learn and take direction, and work in a team environment.
The job expectations:
- Through high-integrity performance of ware washing and facility maintenance duties, you will display a sense of urgency, pride in your work, cooperation, and unwavering care for our guests and food safety.
- Work with the kitchen team to ensure that all cookware, bakeware, and storage containers are cleaned and stored away properly.
- Work with the kitchen and retail team to properly wash and disinfect appliances, display cases, and work surfaces, and manage trash and mop floors, walls, and ceilings.
- Replenish cleaning supplies, towels, toilet paper, and other sanitary supplies.
- Learn and retain standard operating procedures for all sanitation duties while following a timeline and cleaning project schedule.
- Partner with the kitchen team to promote teamwork and efficiency during joint tasks, such as receiving and putting away orders.
What we need from you:
- Experience in a kitchen support position within a similar environment
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs of weight
- Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays
- Expected to work approximately 40-50 hours a week
