Who We Are
TUCKSHOP is an Australian-owned coffee and toastie café bringing a slice of Aussie café culture to the West Village. We keep things simple, casual, and consistent — serving high-quality toasties, great coffee, and friendly neighbourhood vibes.
Role: FOH All-Rounder
We’re looking for an energetic, friendly, all-hands-on-deck team member to help keep things running smoothly at our busy takeaway café. This role suits someone who loves hospitality, enjoys fast-paced service, and isn’t afraid to jump in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Order Taking
- Greet guests with warm, positive vibes
- Take orders efficiently using our POS system – Square
- Provide menu knowledge and recommendations
- Toastie Station Support
- Toasting sandwiches / wrapping (sandwiches will be prepared by our back of house kitchen team that day)
- Maintain a clean, organised toastie bench
- Follow food safety and handling procedures
- Coffee Support (If Skilled)
- Assist the barista with dialing in, making espresso-based drinks, and drink prep
- Maintain clean coffee station and restock beans, milks, and supplies
- General FOH Duties
- Keep the shop tidy and presentable (wiping benches, resetting, spot cleaning)
- Restock grab-and-go, pastries, packaging, and retail items
- Assist with opening and closing checklists
- Cleaning & Maintenance
- Maintain overall cleanliness of FOH, toastie station, and customer areas
- Light dishwashing as needed
- Follow all sanitation, DOH, and safety standards
You Are
- Friendly, reliable, and a natural people-person
- A quick learner who can thrive in a fast-paced service environment
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks at once
- Team-focused, positive, and adaptable
- Barista experience is a bonus, but not required for all staff
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (FPC) - not required for all staff but a bonus
What We Offer
- $16 - $20 per hour + tips (depending on experience)
