Created by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán, Tzuco blends French technique with the bold flavors of Mexico. We are currently seeking a Pastry Cook to join our acclaimed culinary team.

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pastry Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a pastry cook, you will play a key role in crafting high-quality desserts and baked goods with consistency and precision. Your attention to detail, creativity, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment will help elevate our guests’ dining experience through exceptional pastry execution.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipe specifications and established standards.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
  • Ensure food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and organized.
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain health and sanitation standards.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation throughout the cooking process.
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain an effective and positive work environment.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a pastry cook or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of pastry techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Food handling certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Good eye for detail, with a focus on presentation. 
  • Ability to read and follow recipes precisely.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of various cuisines and the ability to adapt to diverse menu offerings.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and maintain composure.
