About Bibliotheque 

Bibliotheque is a bookstore, café, and wine bar in the heart of New York’s famed SoHo neighborhood. It was founded in 2022 by father-son team Dr. Andrew Jacono and A.J. Jacono. Dr. Jacono is a world-renowned facial plastic surgeon and AJ is a published writer and founder of The Spotlong Review. Bibliotheque aims to offer the New York Community an unparalleled literary lounge experience. It's a gathering space for the artists, bookworms, wine and food lovers of the world. Our beverage program is curated by our Director of Operations, Scott Woltz, and consists of over 700 selections (3000 bottles) including rare offerings from the 1950s to present day.


What we are looking for:

We are seeking a hybrid prep/pantry chef who will split their time between daytime prep work and cooking in the evening. This role allows for a lot of creative opportunities, as the position will have the opportunity to build on our current menu of cheeses, charcuterie, tinned fish, salads and sandwiches. On-site training provided for qualified and eager candidates!

A Hybrid Pantry Chef/Prep Cook:  

  • Who is reliable, outgoing, and comfortable in a fast-paced Soho environment.  
  • With a strong sense of urgency while exuding a calm demeanor.
  • Who is a professional with a positive and motivating presence and a strong attention to detail.


Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Contributes to new menu development and culinary projects.
  • Sets up station with appropriate mise en place in advance of service. Ensuring the station and kitchen is clean, stocked, and ready for action.
  • Ensures that all dishes are prepared according to both quality and timing standards. Actively restocks ingredients at the workstation and meets prep times for smooth delivery while in service.
  • Ensures all orders are accounted for, and that all menu items are produced according to spec and timing standards.
  • Follows all allergy protocols and avoids cross contamination by adhering to preparation standards set.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and safe workstation while in service.
  • Breaks down stations fully. Reports 86s and any waste to management.
  • Assists in performing inventory and submits accurate counts.
  • Understands the setup, break down, and service expectations for station.
  • Is reliable, reporting to each scheduled shift on time and ready to work.
  • Is quick, diligent, and willing to improve.
  • Must be able to lift heavy boxes (at least 40 lbs).
  • Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods of time over two floors.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Previous NYC hospitality experience preferred
