Officina [oh · fee · she · nah], or “workshop,” is an Italian-inspired culinary collective from Chef Nicholas Stefanelli of Michelin-star Masseria. Officina is the realization of Chef Stefanelli's career-long dream to bring the very best of Italian gastronomy together under one roof.

Officina is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Lead Bartender to join our team. The Lead Bartender is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bar, ensuring efficient service, high-quality drinks, and a positive customer experience. The candidate will train bartenders and bar staff to uphold bar standards, follow up on drink execution, conduct inventory for month end and weekly orders. As well as lead the creation and costing of seasonal menus.

Responsibilities:

  Bar Operations:

  • Open and close the bar according to established procedures, providing feedback and assisting to create and develop new procedures as needed.

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests.

  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking ice, glassware, and garnishes.

  • Monitor inventory levels and restock bar supplies as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all alcohol beverage control regulations and company policies.

  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.

   Leadership & Training:

  • Assist in training new bartenders and bar staff on drink recipes, service standards, and bar operations.

  • Provide guidance and support to other bartenders during service.

  • Delegate tasks to bar staff as needed.

  • Lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service and bartending skills.

    Customer Service:

  • Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service to all customers.

  • Take drink orders and prepare beverages according to customer preferences and established recipes.

  • Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests.

    Drink Quality & Consistency:

  • Prepare drinks according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.

  • Ensure the quality and consistency of all beverages served.

  • Monitor drink preparation techniques and provide feedback to bartenders as needed.

  • Develop and test new drink recipes.

    Inventory Management:

  • Assist in monitoring bar inventory levels and ordering supplies.

  • Receive and inspect deliveries of bar products.

  • Minimize waste and spoilage of bar products.

  • Conduct regular inventory counts for bar maintenance and end of month closing inventory in Bevager.

     Maintenance & Safety:

  • Maintain bar equipment in good working order and report any maintenance issues to management.

  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards.

  • Ensure responsible alcohol service practices.

  • Handle and dispose of glassware and other bar waste properly.

    Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a lead bartender, fine dining to craft cocktail establishments, with a record of developing team members, driving sales, and leading creation on programs prior.

  • Extensive knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of bar operations and inventory management.

  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS). 

  Physical Requirements:

  •  Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to reach, bend, and scoop frequently.

  • Ability to work in a noisy and crowded environment.
