Overview
Il Buco Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced Host for its three-star restaurant, il Buco Alimentari & Vineria. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a positive first impression and managing the flow of guests. This includes greeting, seating, handling reservations, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. Your primary goal will be to maintain a positive dining atmosphere for our guests.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive hosting experience and a strong passion for the food service industry. You will collaborate closely with the management team to support the current hosts at il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, ensuring that they deliver a welcoming and hospitable experience. This includes managing daily reservations and contributing skills that enhance the overall guest experience.
Please note that proven experience in hosting at a high-end, fast-paced restaurant is required. RESUME IS REQUIRED
The overall responsibilities include:
- Guest Relations

- Train other host, ensuring they are adhering to hospitality standards
Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrive to work every day with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, & prepared for the shift.
- Know the table numbers and position numbers in all sections of the restaurant.
- Perform in accordance with the service guidelines of the restaurant at all times.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Resy booking systems.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our reservation policies and procedures, and the hours for all spaces in the building.
- Maintain general knowledge of nearby landmarks, transportation, and other il Buco properties.
- Cultivate a fluency in verbiage for the waitlist, our reservation policies and procedures, as well as voicemails.
- Monitor restaurant and kitchen flow regarding timeliness during service and assist when and where necessary.
- Report all guest complaints to management immediately and follow up with the guest to ensure their needs have been met.
- Handle gift certificate transactions, fill out all pertinent documentation, and present to the guest.
- Execute payment transactions for guests throughout the restaurant as needed.
- Build a thorough knowledge of the food and beverage items and their preparation available in all active spaces in the building.
- Build a thorough knowledge of our service standards and style as detailed by the Employee Handbook.
- Treat all areas of the restaurant with respect. Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the space at all times.
- Act in a professional manner and represent il Buco Alimentari & Vineria graciously whether you are in house, traveling, or at another local establishment.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-volume, fine-dining environment, with a strong understanding of elevated service standards.
- Weekend and holiday availability -hospitality lives when our guests are dining.
- Proficiency in Resy or a comparable reservation platform, with confidence managing high-volume books.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to think quickly, solve problems gracefully, and remain composed under pressure.
- A naturally warm, polished, and professional presence -someone who can be both refined and genuinely welcoming at all times.
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to communicate effectively with guests and team members and to manage reservations and service materials.

Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally for events
- Standing for 4 to 8 hours per shift with occasional bending and reaching.
- Ability to work in a Restaurant environment with varying temperatures.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $22.00)
