General Manager — Schneider Deli (River North)

Overview
Schneider Deli is seeking an experienced, operationally strong General Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our flagship River North location. With leadership focused on opening our new Lincoln Park store—and key talent transitioning to support that opening—we need a GM who can take full ownership of River North and ensure it continues to run at the highest level.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume, hospitality-driven environment, knows how to lead a team with confidence and care, and can maintain Schneider Deli’s standards without constant oversight.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership

Own all daily operations of the River North location, ensuring consistent service, quality, and speed.

Maintain standards for food quality, cleanliness, guest experience, and execution.

Oversee opening/closing procedures, line management, and shift execution.
Team Management & Culture

Manage, coach, and develop FOH & BOH teams; maintain accountability and elevate performance.

Lead with a hands-on, positive presence that reinforces Schneider Deli’s culture.

Handle scheduling, conflict resolution, training, and communication.
Financial & Administrative

Manage labor, ordering, waste, and cost-control systems to protect store profitability.

Monitor weekly P&L performance and implement corrective actions where needed.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Guest Experience & Brand Standards

Uphold the Schneider Deli brand: hospitality warmth, speed, consistency, and crave-worthy food.

Resolve guest issues quickly and thoughtfully.

Keep the store visually tight—clean, stocked, and brand-aligned.

Requirements

3-5 years of restaurant management experience, ideally in a high-volume counter-service or fast-casual environment.

Strong leadership presence and ability to motivate a team.

Highly organized with excellent communication skills.

Ability to problem-solve under pressure and make smart independent decisions.

Familiarity with scheduling, ordering, cost control, and operations systems.
