Makina is now hiring for front-of-house and back-of-house positions. We are seeking passionate, dependable, and hospitable team members dedicated to providing an authentic and memorable Ethiopian cultural experience for our guests. You will be an ambassador of hospitality, dedicated to serving others and sharing the spirit of Makina.
About The Company
Makina is an established, woman-owned, Eritrean-Ethiopian Hospitality Company with a food truck, a catering kitchen, and a year-round canteen on Governors Island. Makina’s mission is to serve delicious East African food without fear of putting a spin on this time-honored cuisine, and to educate their public about the history and culture behind this long-standing culinary tradition.

Positions include:
- Server

Ideal Experience:
- 1+ years of dining room experience in a high volume, upscale restaurant.
- Strong food and beverage knowledge is preferred.
- Proven track record of dependability and a passion for hospitality.
