Jo’s Modern Thai is a Thai Californian restaurant in Oakland’s Laurel District known for bold flavors, warm hospitality, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere. We are a chef driven restaurant focused on consistency, quality, and creating a strong team culture. As we expand lunch service and continue to grow, we are looking for a Floor Manager who can support daily service and uphold clear standards.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Floor Manager supports the front of house during lunch and dinner service. You lead servers hosts runners and bar staff. You maintain a calm and professional presence on the floor. You communicate clearly with the kitchen. You help keep service organized and consistent. You assist with FOH ordering and help build the weekly schedule with the chef.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead the front of house team during service
Guide pacing table flow and communication with the kitchen
Run preshift meetings and set clear expectations
Support guest recovery when needed
Maintain dining room cleanliness table settings and overall standards
Assist with training new staff
Monitor FOH par levels and place weekly orders
Help organize FOH storage and complete monthly inventory
Assist with FOH scheduling with the chef
Maintain a positive and professional work environment

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Two to four years of restaurant experience
One year of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong communication and team leadership skills
Ability to stay organized in high volume service
Experience in chef driven restaurants is preferred
Weekend availability including lunch and dinner
Must be 21 years or older
Valid California Food Handler certification

COMPENSATION
Starting at $27 dollars per hour
Quarterly performance bonuses
Growth to thirty to thirty two dollars per hour based on performance
Shift meal and dining discounts
Paid sick leave
