The aim of the Manager is to meet and exceed all food safety regulations and cleanliness procedures for all dish room and restaurant service areas. Completes related tasks in order to meet Eataly’s mission and policies in regards to sanitation and cleanliness. Manage Restaurant Porter staff and ensure they are fully versed in Eataly’s goals and that excellent safety and cleanliness standards are consistently met.
As an ambassador of Eataly, the Manager is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality and healthy experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly.
Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)
Periodically meets with Restaurant FOH and BOH managers to ensure cleanliness of dish room and restaurant service areas.
Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment, and arranges for repairs, and other services.
Directs hiring, payroll, scheduling, assignment, training, motivation, evaluation and termination of personnel.
Documents, investigates and resolves all employee and guest incidents including guest complaints and directs escalated issues to the appropriate outlet.
Inspects dining room and storage areas to ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
May review financial information such as sales and costs, and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation and that expenditure stay within budget limitations. Takes action to correct any deviations from the budget. May use computer for review and analysis of information.
Two year associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree from a four year college desirable. 2-3 years of experience supervising a front-of-house or back-of-house restaurant team is required.
Degree from a post-secondary restaurant management or hospitality program is desirable. Illinois Food Handler or Manager Certification is required.
Must be able to exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours in length and have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Reports to the Assistant General Managers and General Manager of Restaurants. Manages restaurant porter staff.
