The Dabney Cellar is seeking a part-time Host / Support Staff member to join our small, dedicated team. The Cellar operates Wednesday through Saturday and offers an intimate extension of The Dabney’s commitment to warm, genuine hospitality and Mid-Atlantic ingredients.
Located just steps from the main dining room, The Dabney Cellar offers a relaxed, ingredient-driven menu and a carefully curated beverage program. Our team is small, collaborative, and highly focused on creating an exceptional guest experience in a casual-yet-refined environment.
Position Overview
This role is essential in supporting the overall flow of service in a compact, high-touch environment. Ideal candidates are gracious, organized, and eager to assist wherever needed to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities include:

Greeting and welcoming guests at the door with warmth and professionalism

Managing a waitlist and accurately communicating expected seating times

Maintaining the dining room throughout service, including pre-bussing tables

Assisting with glassware washing, polishing, and restocking

Supporting team members to maintain a smooth, efficient service flow

Helping keep all guest and service areas clean and orderly
Ideal candidates will have:

Prior hospitality or restaurant experience (host or support experience preferred)

A warm, positive attitude and strong communication skills

The ability to stay composed and organized in a fast-moving, intimate space

A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for hospitality

Availability Wednesday through Saturday
Because this is a small team and limited operating schedule, the position is part-time.

Employee Benefits & Schedule
The Dabney Cellar is open Wednesday–Saturday. Staff members also benefit from The Dabney’s consistent closure on Sundays and Mondays, as well as the group’s observed holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00) plus tips
