Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a General Manager at Hopsmith Tavern in Chicago, IL. The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurants, manage staff, handle customer relations, and ensure the overall success of the establishments. Hopsmith is a late-night bar and is open till 4am. Having high-volume late-night experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee the smooth running of day-to-day restaurant functions.
- Manage staff schedules and ensure proper staffing levels.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize performance.
Financial Management:
- Monitor the restaurant’s budget, including expenses and inventory.
- Track performance metrics (e.g., sales, customer satisfaction).
- Develop strategies to improve profitability.
Staff Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, hire, train, and onboard staff.
- Provide coaching and conduct performance evaluations.
- Resolve conflicts and handle employee relations.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure quality service, food, and ambiance.
- Address customer complaints and concerns promptly.
- Continuously improve guest experiences.
Marketing & Sales:
- Work with the marketing team on promotions and events.
- Monitor customer trends for improvements.
- Drive sales through upselling and guest engagement.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee inventory and ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations and financial management.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software (POS, Triple Seat CRM).
- Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High-volume restaurant management experience.
- Culinary background and understanding of kitchen operations.
- Business development and event knowledge.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($85,000.00 - $90,000.00)
