Prep + Line Cook (Back-of-House) — Part-Time or Full-Time
📍 Rittenhouse Reports to: Kitchen Manager / Manager on Duty
At The Ground, our cozy plant-filled cafés stay buzzing from open to close and none of it would be possible without our kitchen team. We're hiring a hybrid Prep + Line Cook to join our back-of-house operations, helping us serve a tight, crave-worthy menu of wraps, baked goods, and grab-and-go favorites that fuel our drink-loving, pastry-snacking crowd.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving kitchen, isn’t afraid of a prep list, and enjoys collaborating with baristas and fellow cooks to keep things flowing smoothly. You'll work both on the line during service and in prep before or after rushes so multitasking, communication, and cleanliness are key.
🔪 What You’ll Be Doing Line Cook Duties

Execute hot and cold menu items quickly, cleanly, and to spec

Stay calm and focused during busy service (especially weekends!)

Communicate clearly with the FOH and kitchen teams
Prep + Grab-and-Go

Knock out prep lists (chopping, portioning, assembling grab-and-go wraps, etc.)

Label, rotate, and stock grab-and-go coolers so they stay fresh and photo-ready

Complete light baking and restocking of pastries as assigned
Kitchen Cleanliness + Side Tasks

Maintain a clean, organized line and prep station at all times

Jump in on dishes, wipe downs, and deep cleaning when there’s downtime

Follow food safety + sanitation procedures like a pro
Team Support

Collaborate across kitchen + café we’re all one team

Help with FOH restocks (ice, syrup, bins) when needed

Flex between prep, line, and support depending on what the day calls for
🙌 You’d Be a Great Fit If You:

Have previous line or prep cook experience (even short order or breakfast-style)

Love a clean, well-organized station and can handle multiple tasks at once

Can lift up to 40 lbs and work on your feet for 6–8 hours

Have a positive attitude, a sense of urgency, and love pitching in

Are open to weekend or early AM shifts our busiest times
