Bread Baker

The Bread Baker oversees the preparation of high-quality, artisanal breads, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with food safety standards. This role involves managing the entire production process, maintaining recipes, and collaborating with the kitchen team.

General Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads. Mix, knead, shape, proof, and bake dough according to recipes and production standards.
• Monitor the baking process and adjust oven settings to achieve consistent quality.
• Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency in product quality.
• Innovate and experiment with new bread recipes and techniques as needed.
• Inspect raw ingredients for freshness and quality.
• Ensure bread meets presentation and taste standards before serving or packaging.
• Maintain an inventory of baking ingredients and supplies.
• Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
• Operate and maintain baking equipment, such as mixers, proofers, and ovens.
• Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of tools and workstations to meet sanitation standards.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate production schedules and delivery deadlines.

• Train and mentor junior team members or assistants, if applicable.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations in food preparation and handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with hygiene standards.
• Record daily production logs and waste reports.
• Assist with customer or team inquiries regarding bread-making techniques or products.

• Proven experience as a Bread Baker or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and bread-making processes.
• Familiarity with operating and maintaining baking equipment.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and ensure product consistency.
• Physical stamina and strength, including the ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
