Ferrane Bakery, Brooklyn Heights’ newest Scandinavian-inspired bakery and café, is seeking a passionate and skilled Baker to join our growing team. Our concept celebrates Swedish sandwiches, artisanal breads, and pastries made with the highest-quality ingredients, paired with exceptional coffee and genuine hospitality.
We’re quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite and are looking for someone who values craft, teamwork, and consistency.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Baker at Ferrane Bakery, you’ll play an essential role in daily production, ensuring every product meets our standards of flavor, texture, and presentation.
Responsibilities include:

Prepare and bake breads, laminated doughs, and viennoiseries (croissants, danishes, etc.)

Manage daily production flow and maintain consistency across shifts

Coordinate prep lists, timing, and baking schedules

Conduct quality checks on shaping, proofing, and baking

Communicate with pastry and kitchen teams about ingredients and product rotation

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in compliance with health codes

Support teammates and collaborate with the Lead Baker

Troubleshoot real-time production issues as needed
Requirements

Minimum 1 year of professional culinary experience (bread or pastry focus)

Hands-on experience with lamination, shaping, mixing, and baking

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods

Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays (bakery open 7 days/week)

Shift start times include but are not limited to: 12am, 4am and 8am
